On July 21st, 2005, at exactly 5pm, I was given the name Andro. I upheld my name as a bubbly, energetic child living with glee everyday. Then joined my second brother, Rezi, and lastly, my youngest brother, Data. Having two other close friends, I learned to mature and take more responsibility. Beginning to think about my future started at the age of 9, when my mother tried to explain to the young me that she would be going to the states for a better life for the family.

Attending a public school, I always knew that there were bigger opportunities waiting for me to explore. The flawed educational system in my country made me pick up new hobbies, wanting to expand my interests and possibly, my life careers. Spending five years in Georgian Folklore dancing, two years studying herbal medicine and my whole life dedicated to art, I was still unsure of what my aspiration was. The world was filled with many opportunities, and each one of them prompted the young me to try them in interest. I picked up a digital drawing tablet, and started pursuing digital art media. These interests had gotten me a ninety percent scholarship grant to Quality Schools International (QSI), and while leaving the class that I’ve been in my whole life was hard, it was worth the sacrifice. At QSI, I felt like I had many opportunities for me to focus on, and started developing projects as a side-hobby. First, I used my experience as a digital artist to create a short children’s book called “Unchangeable’’, symbolizing how people remain unchanged through different circumstances in life. It teaches the reader to contemplate upon time, and how quickly it can go by. After publishing the book, I’ve started pursuing art design, focusing on character art and clothing. I’ve made concept pieces for works that are in the process of being tailored and displayed. Alongside such, I’ve been working to study behavioral psychology as my major, which is why I’m focusing on classes such as AP Biology and AP Psychology at school. One of my biggest goals would be to become a well-known psychologist for kids, and to treat them both clinically and through therapy. Growing up in a country where mental health was neglected, I want to focus on giving children the health they need, and aid in better mental recovery. I’m planning to apply for high-ranking universities like NYU and Stanford to aim higher and to utilize every opportunity given to me. New York, to me, will flourish my passion and allow me to use my creative mindset to live an adventurous and a hard-working life in the city.

From a small country with small opportunities, I’m with big dreams, hoping for a bigger life in America.
